When the Fear of God Fades…

It seems that in today’s world, fewer and fewer hearts pause to consider God. We scroll, we post, we share, we chase—and in the noise, the awe of Him becomes faint. Technology has made it easier to hide, to justify, and to follow the crowd. What was once whispered as wrong is now celebrated as normal. What was once guarded with reverence is now dismissed with convenience.

But the truth remains unchanged: God has not shifted, and neither have His ways. Sin is still sin, no matter how clever the excuse. Holiness is still holy, no matter how out of style it seems. And eternity is still ahead, whether or not we choose to think about it.

This isn’t about perfection or pretending we have it all together. It’s about remembering that our choices ripple beyond today. That there is a God who sees, who loves, and who calls us—not because we are flawless, but because we are His.

Maybe the question isn’t whether the world fears God anymore. Maybe the question is: do we still? Do we live as if our lives are seen, guided, and one day accounted for? Or have we traded reverence for comfort, and conviction for convenience?

The beauty of the gospel is this: even when we wander, grace calls us back. Even when we fail, forgiveness restores. And even in a culture that normalizes darkness, we can choose light.

Now is the time to live with eternity in mind. To remember that God doesn’t just call the educated, the polished, or the perfect—He calls every heart willing to speak of His goodness, to walk in His truth, and to live with the kind of reverence that says: I still believe. I still honor. I still fear the Lord.

Because in the end, what we fear will shape how we live. And what we love will echo into forever.
