God’s Given Days

A few days ago, yours truly turned another year older and wiser…I would say.

There is something about birthdays that makes me extra grateful than what I already am. It’s in knowing that I have another year to add to my memoirs. Days and weeks and months of waking up to a new day, of time spent with family, of getting through good days, difficult days, and of everything else in between.

Now, I don’t have many accomplishments nor have wealth or greatness to brag about. But I have plenty.

Plenty of God’s grace.

Plenty of God’s love.

Plenty of God’s given days.

Days that were not enjoyed by many.

I think if we look at each day we have – as a God given day…maybe, we will look at it differently.

Maybe we will use that day with more meaning.

Maybe we’ll find a new meaning to being alive.

Maybe we’ll take that day to focus more on the things that makes us happy.

Maybe we’ll complain less and appreciate more.

Maybe we’ll do more good things for others and ourselves just because.

Maybe we’ll see family and loved ones in ways that we haven’t seen them before.

Maybe on these God given days, we’ll show more understanding instead of criticizing.

Maybe we’ll learn to slow down and learn to be appreciative of what’s in front of us, of the now.

Maybe on such God given days, we’ll learn to be kind to others as much as to ourselves.

Maybe on one of these God given days we’ll realize that we don’t have to wait for the perfect time to do and say the things that we wanted.

On this God given day, I hope that we all find the courage to be who we are.

And on this God given day, I hope that we find peace in our hearts that will allow us to heal, to forgive, to move on and to look forward to many more God given days.

It’s a blessing to wake up to another God given day.

Until next time,
