I am someone who watches closely.
I notice the quiet shifts.
I pay attention to the in-between.
I’m Charina — a Filipina writer, wife, mother, and author of Finding God in the Ordinary: Embracing a God Filled Life, The Quiet Life: Reflections for the Introverted Hearts, Resting on the Wings of God: Where Flight Ends and Faith Begins, Between Mornings and Midnight, Just Saying, and Borrowed Prayers.
I write about faith that survives hard seasons.
About marriage when it feels fragile.
About healing that happens quietly and slowly.
About the sacredness of ordinary days.
Writing, for me, is not about sounding wise.
It’s about being honest.
It can be beautiful.
It can be messy.
Sometimes it is both at once.
My words are shaped by lived experience — by rebuilding, by questioning, by staying when it would be easier to disappear. I believe God is present in the unseen work of becoming whole again.
Photography was once a large part of my creative expression, and though I’ve stepped back from it in this season, I still see life through that same lens — attentive, reflective, searching for light.
Here at Charina Writes, you’ll find reflections on faith, womanhood, marriage, motherhood, and the kind of hope that doesn’t shout — it steadies.
If my words feel like company to you, I’m grateful.
You are not alone here.
