Business Trip to Adventure

I used to think knowing God was like going on a business trip with Him.

Planned.

Structured.

Predictable.

Like faith was something I needed to schedule into my life…

something I needed to do correctly.

I thought walking with God meant having the itinerary.

Pray here.

Grow there.

Arrive at peace by Friday.

And if I’m honest, I treated it like that sometimes.

Like the goal was to get through life with as few detours as possible.

To stay on track.

To stay composed.

To stay in control.

But God has been showing me something different.

Something softer.

Something truer.

He isn’t inviting me on a business trip.

He’s inviting me on an adventure instead.

An adventure doesn’t always come with clear directions.

It doesn’t always make sense at first.

It has moments where you don’t know what’s ahead…

only that you’re being asked to trust the One walking beside you.

And that’s what faith has been for me lately.

Not a checklist.

Not a performance.

Not something I manage.

But a journey.

A slow unfolding.

A sacred invitation into the unknown—where God is not rushing me, but leading me.

Sometimes the adventure looks like healing I didn’t expect to need.

Sometimes it looks like doors closing that I begged to stay open.

Sometimes it looks like quiet mornings where nothing changes outwardly…

but something shifts deeply inside.

Because God isn’t just interested in getting me to a destination.

He cares about who I become along the way.

And adventures with Him aren’t always comfortable…

but they are always alive.

They stretch you.

They surprise you.

They remind you that God is not just a distant guide with instructions…

He is a Father with a hand extended.

Not saying, “Hurry up and figure it out.”

But whispering,

“Come with Me.”

And maybe that’s the difference.

A business trip is about productivity.

But an adventure is about presence.

About wonder.

About walking with God not because you have it all together…

but because you know He is good.

So I’m learning to loosen my grip.

To stop treating faith like something I have to execute perfectly.

And to start receiving it for what it truly is:

An invitation.

A relationship.

A life with God that is full of holy moments…

even in the unexpected places.

Because knowing Him was never meant to feel like pressure.

It was meant to feel like walking into something deeper.

Something real.

Something beautiful.

Not a trip.

An adventure.

Until next time,
