Hear Me Out

Are you the type of person who says what you have to say? The type who would just say – blurt out what you want to say?

I’m not, most of the time. I am very cautious with my words so it takes time for me to really say something. I usually play it in my head. You know, how should I say it without hurting the person? Are these the proper words to use? Is this the proper approach?

I’ve been on the receiving end of careless and hurtful words. Of sudden burst of anger. Of uncontrolled temper.

I’ll be the one to tell you that it is not something I want someone to experience.

It’s true that time may heal all wounds, but the memories remain. And with memories comes pain. You forgive but don’t forget. You move on but the scar remains.

Hear me out.

Words are very powerful. More so if it’s something that was spoken without regard to someone else’s feelings. That’s something that we can’t take back. Once spoken, it can’t be unsaid. It is what it is. It can kill. Not literally, but you get my point.

Hear me out.

Our words have the power to take away dreams. It can ruin someone’s reputation. It can build invisible walls. It can dampen someone’s spirits.

Hear me out.

But well chosen words – it can give someone hope. It can heal. It can build bridges. It can light up someone’s world.

It can save a life.

Hear me out.

What’s with your words?

Until next time,
